Two
Island Shadows (1999)
Painted in oils on
panel, this large image portrays a somewhat paradoxical story
of isolation, peace, and reverence. The setting sun casts long
shadows across the land while the elderly fisherman sits in his
fish shack doorway, reflecting on a life now far behind him.
Chester Yacht Club (1997)
I just had to capture
this building. The Chester Yacht Club has a long and interesting
history - Chester Race Week being a summer ritual. In this image
a young person heads out to the basin in her pram while other
prams rest quietly on the lush green grass. The scene at the top
of the frame is that of Chester Basin as viewed from the yacht
club.

Atlantic Steamer
(1997)
Relief carved in poplar,
Atlantic Steamer chugs merrily along. Childhood toys and
tales of spirited adventure influenced this bright and fun carving.
Rolling Home (1989) This work was influenced by the sea song, Rollin'
Home to Old Maui. Painted in acrylics on whale vertebrae,
this is one in a series of ten which were completed while I lived
in Cheticamp. I have also painted on several whale ribs.
